Sundance is over…now what do we do? I know, get outside and play in the snow!
In the last post we talked about how mother nature hadn’t been so generous with her snow this year, things have changed and the snowsports have gotten pretty good as of late. Here is a little report from our perspective.
Alpine Skiers will be excited to see base depths at all three World Class Resorts in Park City up near 50.” Deer Valley is reporting (as of 1/30/12) a 55″ base, Park City 53″ and Canyons Resort 44.” Two different storms nailed us last week and the skiing and riding has been great with soft snow conditions all over the mountain(s). If you are around this weekend (the first weekend of February) you will want to certainly look into attending a few events of the Freestyle World Cup Event. There will be a lot going on, so check out the schedule.
If you are into tubing, you haven’t lived until you’ve had a day at Gorgoza. High speed thrills on an inner-tube.
Many visitors don’t realize this, but Park City is rapidly becoming known for their wonderful Nordic skiing trails too. There really are three major areas to Nordic ski (and snowshoe) locally. Well over 25K in the Round Valley Area, White Pine Touring, and the Basin Trails located out near Kimball Junction. Rentals are available at White Pine Touring.
So when you are ready to book your trip to Park City, take a quick look at these deals. Maybe one of them fits into your plans.
See you out on the snow.
